  18. <p>     Since his release from prison, Nelson Mandela has traveled
  19. 63,350 miles in 84 days to 23 countries, urging the retention
  20. of sanctions against South Africa and raising hackles by his
  21. refusal to denounce Fidel Castro and other revolutionaries who
  22. have supported his cause. The strain is showing: last week
  23. Mandela came down with mild pneumonia in Ethiopia. Mandela, who
  24. turns 72 this week, is considering a vacation that could raise
  25. some eyebrows: a three-week Caribbean sojourn as Castro's guest
  26. in Cuba.
